WAIglobal UK managing director and IAAF vice-president, Richard Welland, has heaped praise on motor factors up and down the UK for turning out in their numbers at Automechanika Birmingham 2019.
Range extensions dominated WAI’s presence at the event, with increased references available for its ranges of starter motors and alternators, clutch pulleys, ignition coils, MAF sensors, wiper motors and window regulators.
Despite increased consolidation in the automotive aftermarket, Welland said the event attracted a high motor factor audience and proved a huge success for the rotating electrics specialist as it welcomed current and potential customers to its stand.
Welland said: “I’ve always said Automechanika is about the people and it was good that so many businesses took the time out to see the investment we and other companies are making to benefit the automotive aftermarket supply chain. In the current market climate, it is imperative that the aftermarket is as engaged as possible with what’s happening and so Automechanika Birmingham was the perfect umbrella to come together under.”
WAI exhibited as part of the Marathon Warehouse Distribution village, the same day supplier of WAI products in the UK. The company highlighted its expanding range of rotating electrics, window regulators, wiper motors, ignition coils and MAF sensors.
Automechanika Birmingham recorded its highest visitor attendance to date in 2019 with 12,145 automotive industry visitors. WAI has already signed up to exhibit when the event returns in 2021.
